Comedian Sacha Baron Choen, who is best known for his character Borat, caused a stir at the Agatha Ruiz de la Prada show in Milan on Sept. 26, when he strutted out on the catwalk in a bizarre outfit and black cape. Sacha was in character as flamboyant fashionista Bruno to capture the stunt for his new movie Bruno: Delicious Jorneys Through America for the Purpose of Making Heterosexual Males Visibly Uncomfortable in the Presence of a Gay Foreigner in a Mesh T-Shirt. The 36-year-old British actor was quickly ushered out by secuiry guards and turned over to police. After questioning, he was released without charges. A day earlier, security guards blocked Sacha and his crew from a show by the Canadian designers Dean and Dan Caten.

What’s with USA and hypocrisy?

•August 3, 2008 • 1 Comment

I’m not even going to date back into the 20th century. I’ll just stick with the two wars the US is fighting now and the third it’s about to begin.

Afghanistan “War on Terror”

We’re all familiar with the story that supposedly involves Osama Bin Laden ordering commercial airplanes to crash into New York’s Twin Towers. Personally, I don’t believe a word of that Rat Bastard’s story, but that’s for another day. So, a couple buildings get knocked down and some people die. How many times has the US done that to other countries? Has anybody forgotten about the atomic bombings of Hiroshima?

Even if their story is true, it doesn’t at all make sense to wage war on Afghanistan. If it is true that Osama planned these attacks, then go arrest Osama. Don’t declare war on a country that has otherwise done no god damn harm to you. Bill Clinton dealt with a similar issue during his presidency at which time he decided to arrest the terrorists, not declare war on their country. Let’s say some maniac from Seattle goes to France and destroys the Eiffel Tower. Does this give France the need to declare war on the USA? Of course not. Jesus Munchkins, people need to get some brains.

Iraq “War on Terror”

I have two points to show on this matter.

Firstly, what is the main reason that the US invaded Iraq? To arrest Saddam Hussein, freeing the Iraqi inhabitants. It is true that Saddam Hussein organized the deaths of 120+ people out of fear of assassination. That is the main reason the US thought he was a threat. However, look at Bush. Hundreds of thousands of Iraqis are now dead, thanks to him. Thousands of US soldiers are now dead, thanks to him. Why is he not being arrested as a War Criminal? That’s something I’ll get into another day too. He’s in no danger, why does he need to get involved in Iraq, anyways?

Secondly, and also the secondary reason that the US invaded Iraq was on claims that they had weapons of mass destruction. I’m not even going to go into the fact that none have been found because that’s not what this blog entry is about. The hypocrisy behind this is the amount of nuclear warheads that are in the possession of the US army. They have hundreds, thousands, maybe even tens of thousands of nuclear weapons ready at their sides and they decide to invade Iraq on claims that they, too, have nuclear warheads.

Iran “War on Terror”

This war has not started yet, but it will. Bills were passed months ago on whether the senate would LIKE to go to war with Iran and it passes near-unanimously. This can be google’d. This wasn’t to decide whether they would, it was to show whether they’d like to. Basically, it was to show Bush that they were ready when he was. Some of you may have heard about the ridiculous incident where a US naval ship was circled by speedboats with an overdubbing of phrases such as “I AM COMING TO YOU.” The US government claimed Iranians were in the speedboats terrorizing them, or something along those lines. The video can be YouTube’d. This was obviously a load of horse crap. It’s obvious now that the US is trying to either provoke Iran or stage it in order to win over the American public. It is confirmed that there are large groups of naval ships already stationary in the waters by Iran. Bush has given speeches on how he thinks Iran is dangerous because they have nuclear warheads and facilities. This, once again brings in the fact that the United States of America does too.

Anyways, I wrote this at 2:30 AM. I’m tired. I’m going to bed.

My first blog: Travelers’ Laptops May Be Detained At USA Border. No Suspicion Required.

•July 30, 2008 • 1 Comment

That’s right. “Federal agents” are now allowed to pick anybody or everybody coming into the US and search their laptops/cell phones, etc. They’re allowed to search anything that can hold digital or analog information.

It used to be that they’d need some sort of suspicion such as:

“Oh, hai. You look like somebody that’s on our FBI’s most wanted.”

or

“Oh hai. You appear to be stabbing multiple people with shards of glass.”

However, with this law modified, it’s more like:

“Oh hai. You appear to be doing nothing wrong but thanks to Homeland Security, we can now search your laptop. Laptop, plz. Oh thx. *Copy* *Paste*. We have your name, address and stuff already so if we find something bad on your laptop, we’ll send some officials to your door to arrest you. Have a nice day!”

Actually, they don’t even have to give the laptop back. They can keep it wherever they want, for as long as they want. “Increasing number of international travelers have reported that their laptops, cellphones and other digital devices had been taken — for months, in at least one case — and their contents examined.”

Not only can they search/take your laptop, “officials may share copies of the laptop’s contents with other agencies and private entities for language translation, data decryption or other reasons”.

This new law applies to everybody entering the US, including US citizens.

Isn’t the USA becoming such a wonderful country? Land of the free, my ass. This is just how it starts.
